There are some days where almost everything we do becomes a learning opportunity! It just so happens that most of what we did on this day was connected to the SAME concept! This was one of those days! And get this… my whirlwind learner had even more learning opportunities throughout the day! They will be in another post!

It started with a package from Amazon. We had ordered some lacing beads and they came in this great wooden container. Aside from removing the string and swinging it in the air, we dumped the beads on the floor and, one by one, put them back into the box.

These beads, by Melissa and Doug, are a fantastic and simple set with 6 different colors and 5 different shapes. Let the stringing and sorting commence!

Following this, Farrah decided that she wanted to color! I placed one of each color crayon in a great little pot I got from Ikea, taped a picture of a butterfly (to try and tie in the sticker activity for some continuity) to the table and let her go… She took a couple of strokes with the crayons and then proceeded to remove the crayons one by one until the pot was empty. When she succeeded in removing the crayons and making sure that they would not roll off of the table, she then placed them back into the pot, one by one.

Later in the evening, as Michael was getting dinner ready, Farrah decided that her learning experience was just not quite done for the day! (This was most definitely Mommy’s fault!). I handed Farrah the bag of goldfish, thinking that there were not too many left… I was wrong! They were dumped all over the floor… OUT and then Farrah began to pick them up, one by one, and place them back into the bag. Of course, she would place two in the bag and eat one in the process… 5 second rule right?

When she was done placing them in the bag, she gave one final DUMP, and then began to sweep up her mess. When she was finished, Mommy swooped in and completed the sweeping. Ha!
