Developing Melodies is looking for a highly motivated, intuitive and grounded music therapist (MT-BC) to join our pediatric therapy team.

This opportunity is based in Bloomington- Normal, Illinois and is a part-time position. A Board Certified Music Therapist is required for this position. 

This person is collaborative and person-centered in their approach to working with pediatrics (birth to 21) and with a wide range of abilities, both in our clinic setting and with our growing community program partnerships. We are looking for someone who exudes warmth, has solid and diverse musicianship on voice, guitar and piano and brings creativity and humanity to the session space. Must be a self-starter, organized and ready to grow with our team.

This position requires availability on Monday and/or Wednesday afternoons and early evenings (3-7pm). Possible tasks include music therapy groups, music lessons, adapted music lessons, individual music therapy sessions. Reliable transportation is required for this position.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelors Degree and Music Therapy Board Certification (MT-BC)
• Dependable and self-motivated
• Be proficient in guitar, piano and voice (Bonus points for ukulele)
• Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of clinical skills with a variety of pediatric populations
• Demonstrate knowledge of pediatric development and abilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge and experience implementing music therapy as part of an IEP or IFSP or SASS plan is helpful
• Have reliable transportation to access facilities throughout the county
• Enjoy using social media to promote services and engage with the community
