Raise your hand if you are overwhelmed!

Raise your hand if you are working more, sleeping less and carrying a heavier load than you would typically carry?

Raise your hand if when someone says “self-care”, you start to cringe and stress because, where in the world will you find time for self-care?!

I always thought self-care was something that took a lot of time. I always thought it was something that included hours by myself in some far away retreat, or maybe it was exercise, or a completely indulgent meal.

While all of these could be great self-care strategies, they don’t always fit in my current life-style. And truthfully, it made self-care scary and daunting.

Let me say this though, self-care is both selfish and necessary.

How can we take care of others if we aren’t taking care of ourselves. We must fill our cup before we begin to fill others. This is exactly the reason why airlines have the safety vest rule.

And so, it only made sense that we would need to find times to indulge in short self-care opportunities.

I began making a promise with families that we would find 10-minutes each day to do any of the strategies in this infographic. These are a few of the ways we came up with to utilize our 10-minutes.

We then went a step further and found ways that we could indulge in our own self-care WITH our families. Self-care doesn’t have to be done alone. This way our children can learn strategies that they can use later as well.

Have you tried any of these strategies? Are there some you have tried that are not on this list?

Let us know some more we could add, I would love to continue this list of 10-minute strategies to boost your day!
